His Lordship Bishop Maxwell Silva and His Lordship Bishop Emmanuel Fernando were welcomed by the leaders of the Moratuwa Municipal Council including His Excellency Mayor of Moratuwa Saman Lal Fernando. They were greeted at the "Kurusa Handiya" (Cross Junction) and taken in procession to the Moratuwa Municipal Council premises.

The ceremony contained many speeches and educational information about the Bishops. Very. Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini (Episcopal Vicar), Very Rev. Fr. Bonnie Fernandopulle (Episcopal Vicar), many other priests from all churches/religious places were present at the occasion to greet the new bishops. Very. Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini making a very important speech explained the administrative perspective of the new Bishop's and greeted their arrival as Bishops from Moratuwa.
