Funeral service of Mrs. Lilly Fernando beloved Mother of Rev. Fr. Elmo Raj Fernando (who is a parishioner) was held at the Lunawa Sts. Peter and Pauls' Church. Funeral left the cottage in procession to the church with a large crowed comprising of many Reverent Fathers, sisters, religious, and Parishioners from all over the Diocese.

Mons. Maxwell Silva (Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo), Very Rev. Fr. Bonnie Fernandopulle (The Vicar General to Colombo Northern region), Very. Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando (Episcopal Vicar for the Colombo South Region) and many other priests of the Dioceses were present at the mass together with Rev. Fr. Prasanna Fernando.

Rev. Fr. Canisius Fernando and Rev. Fr. Jeevantha Peiris as the relatives of Rev. Fr. Elmo Raj Fernando were celebrants of the mass with him.
