Despite the attack on the statue cubical at the Lunawa Tsunami Flats complex in the early morning hours of today, the statue of Jesus Christ was instated and blessed by Rev. Fr. Prasanna Fernando under the guidance of the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Tyronne Perera with the support of Buddhists and Christians of the complex as well as the area.

The statue was bought in procession from the Ss. Peter and Pauls' Church to the flats.

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." Matthew 5:43-44
